i snatched up this ghost dog produced gem on a whim from the local rental place and got sucked into it way more than i was expecting to.

the box was selling it as a real life version of the wire, and they're not far off. it's not that there are corollaries to all the wire characters or plots or what have you, but the documentary works in the same way that the wire did in that it's a microcosm for the greater american socio-economical/political experience that can be transported to just about any mid sized city.

speaking of the wire...

sooo hungry right now, and it's looking like i might have to start from the beginning and rewatch the entirety of the wire for the third time.
