suehiro maruo's stuff looks similar, but i think it's from the same place that the godzilla anatomical stuff came from (http://www.flickr.com/photos/modern_fred/sets/72157603409508667/). i might be super-wrong tho.
suehiro maruo definitely did the liner note art for john zorn's naked city, which was super creepy.
HA! you keep name dropping dudes whose work i'm aware of but have no nae recognition of. shintaro kago was interviewed by, and did a mind numbingly awesome comic for, vice magazine a while back (http://www.viceland.com/int/v15n2/htdocs/shintaro_kago_shit_gold.php).
seriously that surreal cowboy comic (check page 2 for the full blow awesome) blew my head open when i read it.
Also, it seems like Shintaro Kago has a youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/shintarokago The same disturbingly hilarious style, only in animated form!

Looking at it again, it might actually be Shintaro Kago. Both of them are really fucked up and great, though, so it's easy to confuse the two.
